 Nazareth Food Bank has resumed

distribution of food to clients

The Nazareth Area Food Bank has resumed the distribution of food to clients after a four-month suspension of regular operations due to precautions taken over COVID-19.

Food is once again given out on the morning and evening of the second Tuesday of every month, the morning of  the Wednesday afterward and at a new time -- the morning of the Saturday afterward.  Times are as follows:  7:30 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday mornings; 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday evenings; 7:30 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning and 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Also, the Food Bank has implemented new policies and procedures for its food distributions.

Clients are asked to stay in their cars when they arrive in the parking lot of the Food Bank building at 529 S. Main Street in Nazareth.  A volunteer will ask clients their names and addresses and bags of groceries will be brought to clients' cars.  This to protect both clients and volunteers.

Meantime, vegetables grown in the Food Bank garden are being distributed from 6 to 7 p.m. every Tuesday and from 9 to 11 a.m. every Saturday.  Again, clients are asked to remain in their cars and volunteers will hand them a bag of vegetables.

Further, the Food Bank has resumed accepting donations of non-perishable food items from 5:30 to 7 p.m. every Tuesday and 9 to 11 a.m. every Friday and Saturday.

Also, please note that the Nazareth Area Food Bank is a participating member organization of AmazonSmile, an arm of the world's largest e-tailer that channels charitable contributions our way on the basis of shopping done online at AmazonSmile.com.
